11 songs from cast members of US musical TV comedy Glee have sold 848,000 downloads in the US – all the more impressive, because its first series only started airing last month (although a preview was shown in May). Columbia Records has teamed up with studio 20th Century Fox to release selected song downloads from each weekly episode the day before it airs. The songs tend to be covers, which is good news for Journey – the Glee version of Don’t Stop Believin has so far sold 444,000 downloads since being featured in the show. The first CD compilation isn’t out until early next month.
