DoubleTwist is known for its software allowing people to transfer their iTunes library to non-Apple devices – and most recently for a cheeky advert spoofing Apple’s famous 1984 commercial. Now the company has announced the product update teased in that spoof – it has launched an integrated music store in the DoubleTwist software, allowing users to buy songs from Amazon’s MP3 Store and transfer them to any device. DoubleTwist says it’s the first desktop client to access Amazon’s store in this way. So far it’s available in the US, with the UK, Germany and France to follow.
