
The US Federal Trade Commission’s probe into links between the boards of Apple and Google have already led to Google CEO Eric Schmidt quitting his role as an Apple board member. Now Google has lost director Arthur Levinson, who has resigned from that company to hold onto his similar position at Apple. The FTC investigation isn’t the only cause, though: Google and Apple are increasingly shaping up as rivals in the smartphone market through iPhone and Android – and have already fallen out over Apple’s rejection of two Google-made iPhone apps: Google Voice and Latitude.
