NPD Group has released figures for US console game sales in September, revealing that The Beatles: Rock Band sold 595,000 units, compared to Guitar Hero 5’s 499,000. The pair helped the overall music game category to a 72% increase in revenues compared to last September. Meanwhile, MTV has just released the first downloadable content for the Beatles game – the full Abbey Road album for $17, with some tracks available individually for $2 a piece. MTV also says its Rock Band franchise has now passed the 60 million song downloads milestone.
