Slacker started life as a personalised streaming radio service with its own portable music devices. It raised $70 million to do it. Now the company has, ahem, decided that it’s not going to make devices any more, and will instead focus on mobile applications. That means junking its current G2 device and focusing on its ad-supported iPhone and BlackBerry apps, as well as its subscription-based desktop service.
