The European Parliament has reportedly changed its upcoming telecoms legislation to remove an amendment restricting governments’ ability to restrict or remove people’s internet access – including for persistent piracy. However, Amendment 138 to the bill has now been dropped, leaving the way clear (well, clearer) for three-strikes policies from individual governments in Europe.
