Spotify drops price, loses CTO and plans Blackberry app

Plenty of Spotify news today, starting with a Billboard report that the price of a Premium subscription in the UK has dropped to £6.49 for the first six months, thanks to its sponsorship deal with Swiftcover. Which would make us mightily peeved if we’d taken them up on the £8.99 offer sent out to customers last week. Meanwhile, Spotify CTO Andres Ehn has left the company “for new ventures” – interesting timing as the company scales up for its planned US launch. Finally, MocoNews is reporting that Spotify is planning to launch a BlackBerry version of its mobile app, to join the existing iPhone and Android versions, and the upcoming S60 edition.
