An interesting piece of research from Canalys finds that in Western Europe, 54% of people want their next phone to be a touchscreen device. However, of those who already have one, only 47% say they will stick with touch for their next handset. This seems to depend on which phone they own, though – most of the users with HTC and Apple handsets are happy to stick with a touchscreen next time round, but only 27% of those with Sony Ericsson handsets will.
