Would you believe it, people still listen to CDs and the radio? That’s the finding of a paper issued by the US Council for Research Excellence, which aims to dispel some of the myths around music listening. Among its findings: broadcast radio still has the broadest reach, and young people listen to it just as much as old folk; CDs and cassette tapes (!) are second in reach, and youngsters listen to CDs MORE than older people; and lots of people who do listen to digital music are still listening to broadcast radio. Meanwhile, a separate UK survey claims that 13.5% of people used their mobile phones to listen to FM radio in the last quarter. Source: Billboard Source: MocoNews
