Mobile content class action secures $63m payout

We Europeans may have done the mobile content scamming thing years ago, but the sale (or mis-sale) of premium subscriptions has been making waves in the US recently. 14 mobile content firms, including mBlox, Sony Pictures, 2WayTraffic and Playphone, have agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit, stumping up a potential $63 million payment to mobile users who think they’ve been had. Individual consumers can claim $10 if they were billed for unauthorised content from the providers – although the defendants maintain they have done nothing wrong.
