Spain plans to publish its plans for anti-piracy legislation on 14 December, and vote on them by the end of the year, culture minister Angeles Gonzales-Sinde has announced. “Spain’s model will be different to that of many neighbouring countries. We do not believe in criminalization of the Internet user, but in the persecution of websites that offer the possibility of downloading illegally”. Spain has long been viewed as a hotbed for online piracy, so the creative industries have been lobbying hard for legislation. Source: Billboard
