
YouTube is giving advertisers more control over which videos their ads appear next to, including the ability to choose individual videos, or get suggestions based on keywords, viewer demographics or interest-based categories. The new tool is for advertisers who already work closely with Google. However, it remains to be seen how it will work for music videos. While the video targeting feature gives advertisers more control over where their ads are placed, Google is simultaneously giving labels like WMG more control over what ads are sold around their content – or even letting them sell their own ads.
