Pandora CTO Tom Conrad has told the SF MusicTech Summit that Pandora is keen to make a bigger move into in-car audio, starting with controls built into dashboards and steering wheels to access its smartphone apps. However, ultimately, the company wants to have its service built into web-connected cars for direct streaming. Conrad also claimed that half of Pandora’s mobile users are already using their apps in-car, often by plugging their handset into a stereo line-in socket. More announcements on the web-car front may come at next month’s CES show in Las Vegas. Source: GigaOM
