Joey Santiago and David Lovering, of Pixies fame, have a new project called The Everybody. Their album Avatar is being distributed through Topspin, which says it’s the first album to feature an iTunes LP package that’s NOT sold through iTunes. What’s more, the album is being sold digitally with Creative Commons-licensed stems, allowing fans to remix the tracks to sell themselves. The album costs $4 for just MP3s + iTunes LP, $10 for lossless + bonus tracks + MP3s plus iTunes LP, or $40 for WAV stems plus all of the above. Source: Topspin Blog
