
Two surveys commissioned by the Motion Picture Distributors Association (MPDA) appear to show rising levels of online piracy in India. The first survey, from internet firm DtecNet, claims that India is now one of the ten countries with the highest rates of copyright infringement. Meanwhile, a second study from Envisional claims that BitTorrent is still the most popular download source in India, but that ‘cyberlockers’ like Rapidshare are coming up fast – 8.2% of visitors to the top ten cyberlockers worldwide come from India.
