Swedish public TV broadcaster SVT has hit on a novel approach to getting its iPhone TV app approved: it’s picketing Apple CEO Steve Jobs. Literally – it’s sent staff dressed in Swedish national costume to Apple’s Cupertino HQ with placards, while also launching a DearSteveJobs website inviting him to record a video message giving his approval for the app. It’s all a publicity stunt – the app was only submitted yesterday – but frankly it makes Spotify’s ‘wait and see’ policy from earlier in the year look a bit lazy.
