Any music firms or labels mulling which mobile platforms to support should cast an eye over mobile advertising firm AdMob’s latest report. It reveals that Google’s Android OS is now accounting for 27% of the ad requests on its network – up from 20% a month ago. That’s still some way behind iPhone’s 55% share, but shows how in the US in particular, Android now has a firm claim to be the second most important smartphone platform.
