No, we’re NOT predicting that The Orb will be Christmas Number One next year (although it’s a thought…). But we read a couple of pieces this weekend on US blogs focusing on the same tech trend. TechCrunch’s piece calls it ‘ambient streams’, while the Collaborative Creativity blog describes it as ‘ambient awareness’. In a nutshell, it’s a combination of real-time data, geolocation and social media – an ambient stream of ‘stuff’ that passes through a filter to ensure that you see / don’t miss the most relevant bits. The question is who will make those filters. Anyway, ‘ambient’ is the word to drop in Web 2.0 circles for now, it seems.Source: Collaborative Creativity
