A new year’s resolution: stop the snarky comments about how Twitter is ever going to make money. According to Bloomberg, the micro-blogging company is already profitable – it’ll make around $25 million from its search deals with Google and Microsoft, which will enable it to turn a “small profit” this year, thanks to operating costs of $20-25 million. Both Google and Microsoft are paying Twitter for access to its ‘firehose’ of real-time tweets, to include them in their search results. Twitter is rumoured to be working on other ways to make money in 2010, including possibly charging business users for extra features, and advertising. Source: Bloomberg
