iPhone’s App Store has now generated more than three billion downloads, according to an Apple announcement yesterday. It’s taken less than four months to rack up its last billion, showing the increasing popularity of Apple’s store – boosted by a bumper Christmas for downloads from iPod touch users. “Three billion applications downloaded in less than 18 months – this is like nothing we’ve ever seen before,” says CEO Steve Jobs.
