First there was Peter Gabriel with The Filter, and now he’s been followed by Midge Ure with Tunited. Ure is backing the new online music community, which claims to “revolutionise the music industry”. Which is nice. It’s targeted at musicians and fans, and is promising to offer the former 100% of the revenues from tracks bought and downloaded by the latter. It’s also claiming to have a “pool of industry experts, A&Rs and producers poised to give advice and feedback on Tunited’s artist roster and scout the latest talent to sign”. It’s launched a blog so far, with the full site due to go live in April. Source: Dotted Music
