Universal Music Group has laid off around 50 staff, including some of its digital executives. Island Def Jam SVP of new media and commerce Christian Jorg and VP of web and mobile marketing Mark Lehmann are both leaving the company, having joined in 2007 from mobile startup Flycell. The wider headcount reduction takes in positions at Interscope, Verve Music Group, Lost Highway Records, UMG Distribution and Fontana. Source: Billboard
