US satellite radio firm Sirius XM added 257,000 subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2009, taking its total to 18.8 million. The company says it’s benefitting from high take-up of its free trials in cars – 46.4% of people who got a trial in their new car in Q4 went on to sign up for a paid subscription.
