We reported earlier this week on the launch of MTV’s Rock Band Network, which allows artists and labels to create their own downloadable tracks for the Rock Band games. But where do they draw the line on lyrical content? Helpfully, there’s a FAQ on the official website explaining what words will give a song an ‘M’ rating (meaning it won’t be allowed on the store), a ‘T’ rating (which will be allowed) or no rating at all. You’ll be pleased to know that “masked allusions to physical intimacy” – e.g. ‘Baby let me light your candle’ in Hard To Handle – are perfectly fine. There’s also a marvellous list of ‘naughty’ words and phrases which – we can only assume this is a joke – includes the phrase ‘spaghetti cormorant’. Source: Kotaku
