The latest report from mobile advertising firm AdMob reveals that 81% of its smartphone ads in the US were served to iPhone and Android handsets in December. That’s 54% to iPhones (and iPod touches) and 27% to Android phones. That’s up from a 55% combined share in the first quarter of 2009, thanks mainly to the growth in Android. It’s worth noting that this data doesn’t apply to sales of handsets – just to the relative number of people using their devices for mobile web or applications.
