The US Department of Justice has cleared the planned merger of Ticketmaster and Live Nation, meaning the deal could close in a few days time. However, there are conditions: Ticketmaster must license its primary ticketing software to competitor AEG, sell off one of its ticketing units – Paciolan – and agree not to retaliate against any venues who choose to use rival ticket services for their events.
