TechCrunch reports that investors have ousted Benassaya after being disappointed by the performance of the streaming site’s premium service, which was launched in November. The article cites French industry site Electronlibre’s claim that Deezer’s premium service has only attracted 10,000 paying users so far, in stark contrast to the 250,000 paying subscribers on Spotify. Deezer raised 6.5 million Euros in Series B funding last October.
