Gracenote has announced a new deal with the four major labels to get metadata and album art for songs and albums before they are released. That means music services using Gracenote’s technology will be able to offer information and recommendations based on songs as soon as they’re released. That includes music identification services like Sony Ericsson’s TrackID and AT&T Wireless’ MusicID 2. Gracenote already has similar pre-release deals with the likes of INgrooves, IODA and The Orchard for independent tracks. Source: Press Release
