There was a lot of excitement around virtual goods at MidemNet and MIDEM this year, with much talk about whether the hugely profitable Farmville social game has anything to teach the music biz. Anyone excited by that should check out a new report from Inside Network, which claims that virtual goods will generate $1.6 billion in the US alone this year, with social gaming firms accounting for $835 million of it.
