The B2B digital music firm says it served 150 million music downloads through its various clients in 2009 – up 32% from the previous year. The company now runs 45 digital music stores in 16 countries, and says that December was its biggest month, with 22 million downloads and up to 200,000 an hour at peak times. The company admits that a lot of its 150 million downloads for the year came from subscription services – for example, it powers Danish telco TDC’s Play all-you-can-eat service. However, 24-7 says its pay-per-download volumes still rose 40% in 2009.
