Hong Kong-based Music Matters could be in hot water with the South Korean government, after publishing research during MidemNet claiming that 60% of Korean internet users have downloaded music illegally – the second highest proportion in the world behind China. However, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a statement urging local media not to report on the research, due to inaccuracies. Its chief complaint: the question asked was ‘Have you downloaded music from the internet without payment?’ – fairly ambiguous, to say the least. Source: Korea Times
