Universal Music Group has announced a deal with mobile firm Netbiscuits to create artist-branded mobile websites. The sites will be compatible with iPhone, Android and Windows Mobile handsets, and will offer social/UGC features and the ability to buy and download tracks. It’s another sign that the future for artists and mobile is about more than apps – mobile websites offer an alternative way to target fans no matter what phone they’re using. Source: Hypebot
