Dan Rosensweig has left his job as Guitar Hero ‘CEO’ at games publisher Activision after less than a year, with speculation that a decline in sales for the music franchise – as well as reportedly slow business for the new DJ Hero spin-off – is the reason. He’s been replaced by David Haddad, who was formerly COO of the Guitar Hero brand. “As we enter 2010, David Haddad with broad consumer product and digital/online experience is the right leader at the time to drive our agenda to improve profitability,” says an Activision spokesperson. The LA Times suggests that Guitar Hero may focus more on digital distribution in 2010 under the new regime.
