Spotify boss Daniel Ek says the company is on course for its long-anticipated US launch, telling the New Music Seminar in LA that “We’re in the final stages of setting up… I can’t say if it’s in one month’s time or two month’s time, but it’s looking pretty good.” He also said that Spotify is currently adding a few thousand paying users a day in Europe; that it expects to have a download partner in place for the US launch (the role fulfilled by 7Digital in Europe); and that it’s planning to integrate Twitter-esque following features, letting users ‘follow’ specific artists to be alerted when new tracks are available. Meanwhile, Spotify has also just removed its invite-only restriction in France. Source: Billboard Source: TechCrunch Europe
