Realising that their access to the future of selling apps and games is in danger of being swallowed in one mighty gulp by Apple, 27 mobile operators have got together to create the Wholesale Applications Community. Promising to develop an easier route to market than the App Store approval process, the collective – which includes giants like Vodafone and Sprint – will develop an “open platform that delivers applications to all mobile phone users”.
