Ad-supported music service Guvera – an Australian/American venture that we featured in our Report last year – is set for its official US launch on March 30th. Describing itself somewhat confusingly as “free but paid for” (we prefer Jim Griffin’s expression, “feels free”), Guvera will start by offeirng music but plans to introduce videos and television content by the middle of the year. Guvera has been trialling in Australia for two months and currently has licences from EMI, Universal, IODA and InGrooves.
