Analyst firm Gartner has released stats for smartphone sales in 2009, revealing that Symbian is still the most popular OS, with a 46.9% market share, although that’s down from 52.4% in 2008. The big winners are BlackBerry – up from 16.6% to 19.9% in the same time period – and iPhone, which rose from 8.2% to 14.4%. Google’s Android OS, meanwhile, rose from a 0.5% market share in 2008 to 3.9% in 2009.
