Spotify has announced a global exclusive on a new Jimi Hendrix video. It’s for his cover of blues song Bleeding Heart, and is being released to promote a new compilation called Valleys Of Neptune. The video will be available in all six Spotify countries from today, with a homepage skin to plug it. So does this mean Spotify has ambitions to take on Vevo and YouTube in the music videos market? Not exactly. The Hendrix video is effectively an advertisement from Sony Music – with one implication being that only free users will see it, since Premium subscribers don’t get ads. However, the latter will get to stream the album itself from next Thursday, a few days before its official release. Source: SandboxFM
