The stat was revealed at an Open ID User Experience Summit last week, and should provide food for thought for anyone involved in artist marketing. The Gaga site could have forced fans to create an entirely new profile just for that site, but by getting people to sign in with their existing social IDs, it can benefit from a viral boost by pushing their comments and interactions back to their social networks.
