Japanese publishing society JASRAC is on the copyright infringement warpath, with Twitter squarely in its sights. It’s unhappy about lyrics being quoted on the micro-blogging service – and specifically on Twitter accounts set up for that purpose, like Lyric Of The Day. Unsurprisingly, there’s scant information on exactly who JASRAC plans to go after for this infringement – the individual Twitter account owners or Twitter itself – not to mention how it expects Twitter to police the quoting of lyrics in its 50 million tweets a day.
