According to comScore, US online video views dropped by 2.5% between December 2009 and January 2010, to 32.4 billion. In the same period in 2008/2009, views rose by 4%. The stats show that in January 2010, those 32.4 billion views were still up 119% year-on-year. Google’s sites – essentially YouTube – took a 39.5% share of the market with 12.8 billion views, with Hulu the nearest competitor with 903 million views. Vevo is ranked ninth in comScore’s chart with 226 million views for the month – a 0.7% market share in the US.
