Digital media platform Consolidated Independent has opened a New York office, having quadrupled its client base in the US in the last year. The company already works with the likes of Alligator Records, Dualtone Music Group, Merge Records, Razor & Tie Entertainment, Redeye Distribution, Righteous Babe Records and Thirsty Ear Records there, and has appointed Rob Weitzner as its North America Representative to run the office. He says the company’s expansion has happened “as more and more rights owners seek to reduce their infrastructure costs, establish direct control over their distribution, and improve cash flow”.
