Security firm Barracuda Labs has been digging into 19 million Twitter accounts to figure out who’s using the service, and how much. It defines ‘active’ Twitter users as people who follow and are followed by at least 10 people, and have tweeted at least 10 times. By this calculation, it reckons that only 21% of Twitter users are ‘active’. In fact, 73% of Twitter users (or Twitter accounts) have tweeted less than 10 times, while 51% are following less than five people.
