Private equity firm Dimensional Associates has announced plans to take digital music distributor The Orchard fully private, buying out the 58% of shares it doesn’t already own at $2.05 a share. TechCrunch suggests that this values the business at just $12.8 million, which seems rather low. Dimensional says the deal is expected to close in the third quarter of this year, if The Orchard’s other stockholders approve the merger. The next 30 days will be a ‘go-shop’ period, where The Orchard will try to determine if there are any other interested buyers. Source: Press Release Source: TechCrunch
