We don’t normally link to stories from The Sun, but we’ll make an exception for ‘news’ that Simon Cowell has, in the tabloid’s words, “turned to the FBI to stop hackers nicking his label’s tracks”. The serious issue is that new material from Sony Music subsidiary Syco’s acts Alexandra Burke and Shayne Ward has been stolen and uploaded to file-sharing networks. “We are doing everything we can to catch those behind this,” says a spokesperson. The FBI’s role is presumably to identify the hackers if they’re based in the US.
