Thumbplay’s BlackBerry-based streaming music service is now in public beta, with users able to download the app from RIM’s BlackBerry App World. The service works on a range of BlackBerry smartphones as well as PCs and Macs, it is only available in the US. Users can stream songs and albums on-demand, create playlists, and import their existing iTunes playlists into the app. Thumbplay has licensed eight million tracks for the service, and users pay $9.99 a month to subscribe.
