After MMP3.com and MP3tunes, what next for Michael Robertson? He’s trying to shake up the world of online radio. Robertson is preparing to launch a service called BYO.fm (standing for ‘Bring Your Own’). It’s an extension of MP3tunes, and lets people create their own web radio stations based on their stored songs, with news, weather and sports reports sourced from other sites and read out via text-to-speech technology. “All online radio does now is transfer audio over the Web,” says Robertson. “Web radio should be personalised.” BYO.fm will work on iPhone and Android handsets, as well as internet radios.
