An Illinois man is suing Microsoft for patent infringement, relating to the Buy From FM feature in the company’s Zune HD gadget. It lets people tag songs they hear on FM radio for purchasing in Zune’s music store. Edward Yavitz claims that he patented the idea, and suggested a licensing deal to Microsoft in 2006 – two years before Buy From FM launched for Zune. As Engadget points out, if this lawsuit has any merit, Apple could face questions about its similar iTunes Tagging feature, which is in a number of HD radios in the US. Source: Engadget
