YouTube has been working on a revamp of its video pages for a while now, but following successful limited trials, the new design has gone live for every video on the site. The new look is less cluttered, with no star ratings and more prominent search functionality. Is it a big deal? According to YouTube, users who could see the new design during its test period increased their engagement by 7% – that means actions like rating videos and posting comments – while increasing their number of videos watched by 6%.
