It’s not just Apple launching new products in April. Really. Microsoft has invited US journalists to an event on 12 April with the tagline ‘It’s Time to Share’. CNET has done some digging, and claims that it’ll be the big reveal for ‘Project Pink’ – a pair of new social smartphones that are the follow-ups to Danger’s Sidekick messaging handset (Microsoft bought Danger a while back). Codenamed Pure and Turtle, the devices will be focused on social media, but will include Zune software for music. The Sidekick was hugely popular among US celebrities and teens alike in its heyday, although we’re told (genuinely) that it’s since been usurped by BlackBerry.
